In the 70′s a guy working for the special forces went AWOL . He lost it completely!

He ended up in Limekiln woods in Telford.

Living as a Hermit since the 70s he build his house in these woods and lived happily undisturbed by human intervention for decades.

He could put Ray Mears to shame. building a bridge, dog house and fencing in the middle of the forest.

My Sisters fella has been telling me about the legend of the limekiln woods hermit for a while now but ive only just got chance to take the dog for a walk and see it for myself.

SAD BIT:

10 years ago he died and his dogs who were his faithful protectors for so many years ate the majority of the body before anyone discovered it .

5 years later his house his books and way of life were left there untouched until someone decided to burn it down.

This is whats left, you can still make out the bridge, fences, cooking and utensils

I can almost imagine how much effort this guy made to be undisturbed by society .

Ive been wanting to give this a go for absolutely ages, but it just seemed like far too much effort to do, so i just kept putting it off

However it was a clear night tonight so i thought id venture out . It should have took an hour to get the effect i wanted but after 30 mins it clouded over and started to rain, so i had to give up.

Still im really happy with the first attempt i think im going to pop back and re visit the spot i was at at the weekend.
